Application deadlines for students, faculty, and staff for the 2008 Missouri Fine Arts Academy have passed. Application materials for the 2009 Academy will be posted in September, 2008.

Students

School districts and private schools are responsible for nominating students to attend the Missouri Fine Arts Academy. Students may not self-nominate. Click on "Enrollment and Nominations" to determine how many nominations your school or district receives. Only students who will be juniors and seniors in the 2008-2009 school year are eligible for the 2008 Academy. Check with your superintendent or principal to find out who to contact in your district or school about your interest in the Missouri Fine Arts Academy. The preparation guides and scoring sheets may be downloaded and copied. They are to be used as guidelines as students prepare their nomination materials. They should not be returned with the nomination form. Please note: Performance auditions and portfolios may not be judged if they do not adhere to these guidelines!

Per Course Faculty Opportunities

Depending upon student population, The Missouri Fine Arts Academy may be in need of per course and/or private instructors in the following disciplines:

  • visual art
  • instrumental music
  • vocal music
  • dance
  • theatre arts (performance and technical)

Per course and private instructors are paid $28.00 an hour (actual student contact hours). If you are interested in being a per course or private instructor at the Missouri Fine Arts Academy, please send a current resume or vita and course description(s) to:

  • Design courses for artistically gifted high school juniors and seniors who have experience in a specific discipline listed above.
  • Focus on advanced theory, rhetoric, and practice.
  • Choose an area or approach that you are confident will not be addressed or explored in Missouri’s high school classrooms during the regular school year.
  • Plan for groups of 10-15 students.
  • Plan courses that will meet 7 times during the Academy for 1.5 hours.
